Gegründet
wurde die Band 1998 von Absolventen des Regensburger Music College. The
U.FO versteht sich als Partyband, die den Funk und Soul für Tanzwütige
predigt. Die Mitglieder dieser „funky family“ sind Musiker mit langjähriger
Live- und Studioerfahrung aus den verschiedensten Band-, Musik- und
Musicalprojekten. Mit vier SängerInnen und einer dreiköpfigen
Hornsection wuchten „the U.FO“ bei ihren Liveshows eine schweißtreibende
Melange aus Funk, Soul, Disco und Blackmusic unters Volk. Die im April
erschienende CD „the U.FO – connected to fonk“ belegt dies
eindrucksvoll.
